Does that mean I'm expert at all of these things? Absolutely not. What it means is that I can step into these roles as needed, but more importantly, I know how to work with subject matter experts within their respective fields. My two deepest dives are in visual design and web development, but that doesn’t mean I don’t work to develop my skills in other areas.

When your experience runs deep and broad, those boxes used to define the scope of what you’re capable of doing are your enemy. They create artificial limits to what you think you are capable of, and they are often exploited by others (especially new employers) to artificially reduce the value of you and your work.

I say no to boxes. Do you?
